Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: To markedly improve the color tone stability and heat resistance of a rosin resin while maintaining it light-colored by heating it in the presence of a specific compd. CONSTITUTION: A rosin resin, pref. a rosin ester, still pref. a rosin ester of which the alcohol component is pentaerythritol or glycerin, is heated in the presence of pentaerythritol tetrakis(β-laurylthiopropionate) pref. in an amt. of 0.01-5wt.% of the resin. An ester formed by the addition reaction of an α,β- unsatd. monocarboxylic acid and/or an α,β-unsatd. dicarboxylic acid (e.g. acrylic acid) onto rosin can also be used as the resin.
