CAPSTAN OF PIANO

PURPOSE: To make it possible to eliminate a working cost and to easily adjust the height of a capstan without removing a keyboard even if a height adjustment quantity is large by specifying the shape of the capstan. CONSTITUTION: The capstan 1 is composed of a plate which is fixed at its one end atop the keyboard 2, extends above the keyboard 2 and is deformable by bending. The height adjustment of the capstan 1 is executed by pressing a finger or suitable tool to the capstan 1 and raising the capstan or directly applying force on the capstan so as to bring down the capstan. The capstan 1 composed of, for example, mild steel, is easily bent and deformed around the fixing part 1a as a fulcrum and, therefore, the large height adjustment quantity is obtd. by one time of operation; in addition, the shape after the bending and deforming, i.e., the height after the adjustment, is stably maintained. Then, the height of the capstan is easily adjusted without removing the keyboard 2 even if the height adjustment is large.
