Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: To obtain the subject fiber having sufficient physical properties and decomposing at a high rate in natural environment by constituting the sheath part with a water-insoluble, thermoplastic and biodegradable polymer and the core part with a mixture of a biodegradable polymer and a water-soluble thermoplastic polymer. CONSTITUTION: In this conjugate fiber, the sheath part is constituted with a water-insoluble, thermoplastic and biodegradable polymer and the core part with a mixture of 50-100wt.% water-soluble thermoplastic polymer and 0-50% water-insoluble, thermoplastic and biodegradable polymer. Moisture, etc., penetrates into cracks generated by decomposition of a cross section or the sheath part in natural environment to generate swelling, elution or decomposition of the water-soluble polymer in the core part, thus decomposition rate is accelerated.
