PACKAGING APPARATUS FOR VARIABLE HEIGHT OF PRODUCT

PURPOSE: To automatically supply packaging materials that are suitable to variation in height of products by a method wherein the length and the width for the packaging material are determined in accordance with the height measured for the products in advance of starting of works for packaging the articles. CONSTITUTION: A conveyance means transfers an stack of cards 1 accumulated in optical numbers at a card accumulating part 21 to a product push-out part 22. A height measuring part 22a for measuring the height of products 1 is provided at the product push-out part 22, and the height of the products 1 is measured therewith. The measurement data are transferred to a film dimension calculating part and the dimension for a wrapping film is obtained, based on a specified numerical formula. The film dimension calculating part also determines amount of various kinds of controls necessary for packaging at a wrapping-round/tucking-in part 24. The dimension of the wrapping film and the amount of various kinds of controls are sent to a control part. The control part outputs control signals to a film cutting-supplying part 23 and film in the form of a web is cut in specified length and width therewith, and a wrapping film obtained therefrom is carried for setting to a specified point wherefrom packaging work starts.
