Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: To obtain an ink jet recording sheet prevented from the surface damage caused by the contact with the paper feed roll or device arranged to the feed part of a printer and ensuring ink absorbability. CONSTITUTION: An ink jet recording sheet of which the 75 deg. surface gloss measured by JIS-Z8741 is 20% or more is obtained by applying at least one ink receiving layer to a support. The support is composed of a compsn. based on wood pulp and the penetration measured based on JIS-K2207 after wetting of the recording sheet is 0.5-4.0.
