Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE: To prevent the entrapment of inclusion of scum, etc., at a meniscus part by forming the cross section of a nozzle in a flat cylindrical shape and providing projecting parts at a part including the molten metal meniscus part at both outsides of the short side part in the nozzle. CONSTITUTION: The cross section of the nozzle for a twin belt type continuous casting machine is formed in the flat cylinder shape over the whole length and in a straight type flat shape. The projecting parts 5 are provided at both outside parts of the short side part in this flat nozzle 15, and each lower surface 6 thereof has the curved shape and the parts 5 each are formed so as to be shallow toward the outside. Further, a partion wall 4 is arranged in the pouring part 3 of the flat nozzle 15 body and the molten steel is divided into two flows and spouted into a mold. An upward velocity component of reversed flow toward the nozzle is restrained with the lower surface of the projecting part 5, and the reversed flow is straightened in the horizontal direction to flow. By this action, waving on the meniscus is restrained and the meniscus shape is smoothened and wavy eddy is eliminated.
