ELECTROLYTE FOR DRIVING ELECTROLYTIC CAPACITOR

PURPOSE: To prevent increase in the internal pressure of a case and improve forming capability by dissolving in an organic solvent one or more acids or their salts as main solute, selected from among those expressed by specific formulae, and adding a nitro compound. CONSTITUTION: An electrolyte for driving electrolytic capacitors is prepared by dissolving one or more acids or their salts as the main solute, selected from among those expressed by the formulae I or II, in an organic solvent, and adding a nitro compound. The acids or their salts used in the electrolyte for driving electrolytic capacitors are excellent in forming capability, as compared with prior art dibasic acids; therefore, it is possible to improve sparking voltage. The electrolyte for drive using the acids or their salts with improved forming capability is capable of having a large quantity of nitro compounds added in. As a result it is possible to improve the effect of preventing gas production and corrosion in products.
