RADIOACTIVE WASTE STORAGE BODY FOR GEOLOGICAL DISPOSAL

PURPOSE: To reduce weight and cost and to improve manufacturing and handling property by pressing and filling a medium to be enclosed into the space part between a canister and an overpack container. CONSTITUTION: Since a medium R to be enclosed is filled into a space part 4 of an overpack container while pressure is being applied, the differential pressure between the external pressure of, for example, the underground water at a stratum disposal point and the pressure of the medium R is operated on the wall of an overpack container 2 and stress applied to the container wall decreases. When performing overpack treatment, the medium R is pressed and injected into the space part 4 via a feedthrough path 21 by a liquid injecting means 22 and the leakage toward the outside is inhibited by a sealing means 23. Since the feedthrough path 21 is blocked by the press toward the valve seat of a valve body based on elastic force, the volume does not change due to the blocking of the path 21 and the non-compression property of the medium R due to the sealing means 23 and no external fluid enters the path 21, thus preventing the infiltration of the fluid.
