SCANNING METHOD OF IMAGE SENSOR AND LARGE-SIZED IMAGE SCANNER

PURPOSE: To provide a scanning method of an image sensor which can obtain read data by the width of a form without misalignment by one image scanner which is shorter than the form width, and to provide a large-sized image scanner. CONSTITUTION: While the form 9 is moved in a subscanning direction, data are read by the readable width (x) of the image sensor 2 which is shorter than the width of the form 9 and after the 1st read ends, the image sensor 2 is moved by its readable width (d) while the form 9 is moved by its movement distance (y) in the opposite direction, so that a 2nd read (scan) is started. For the 2nd read, data are read by the readable width (x) of the image sensor 2 while the form 9 is moved in the subscanning direction similarly to the 1st read and after the 2nd read ends, the form 9 is moved by its movement distance (y) in the opposite direction. For the 3rd and succeeding reads, reading and the reverse movement of the form are performed similarly to the 1st and 2nd reads and scanning is repeated until the readable width (w) of the form 9 is exceeded.
