CHUCK DEVICE

PURPOSE: To provide a chuck device which can prevent burst of a chuck member and prolong the service life of the chuck member. CONSTITUTION: An elastic cylindrical chuck member 16 is provided in a case main body 2. The inner side of the chuck member 16 is a storage space section K which stores an object to be chucked. A flange section 18 provided on a basic end side of the chuck member 16 is fixed to the case main body 2. A lip section 20 provided at a tip of the chuck member 16 is a free end and comes into contact with a pressing section 21 provided in the case main body 2. When air is supplied from a port 15 for chuck, the chuck member 16 is shrunk toward the inner side. At this time, if the object to be chucked is in the storage space section K, the object to be chucked is gripped by the chuck member 16. On the other hand, if the object to be chucked is not in the storage space section K, the lip section 20 comes off the pressing section 21 to exhaust air from between them 20, 21 in accordance with the shrinkage of the chuck member 16 toward the inner side.
