SLAB CONVEYING DEVICE

PURPOSE: To provide a slab conveying device which can smoothly convey a slab to a higher position in a short conveying cycle even if the slab is long and large. CONSTITUTION: A tilt roller table 2 having a tilt angle θ of less than friction angle is disposed between a horizontal entry roller table 1 and a delivery horizontal roller table 3 at a higher position and the rear end of the horizontal entry roller table 1 is ratatably supported by a bearing 4 and the front end of the horizontal entry roller table 1 is horizontally supported from the bottom side by a tilt arm 5 whose bottom end is supported by a bearing 6. On the other hand, the top end of the horizontal entry roller table 1 is lowered and tilted to the same angle as a tilt angle θ of the following tilt roller table 2 by rotating the tilt arm 5 with a power cylinder 7. By means of this construction, when a slab is stopped at the time when the slab is transferred to the tilt roller table, the slab is freed from the stop and can be continuously conveyed by tilting the forward horizontal entry roller table.
