Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To obtain a compound effective in treating diseases due to cholinergic hyperfunction and Sjoegren's syndrome by reacting quinuclidin-3-one with a basic substance and trimethylsulfoxonium methylsulfate, etc. CONSTITUTION:(A) One mol of quinuclidin-3-one is reacted with (B) 1-5mol of a basic substance consisting of sodium hydroxide, sodium methoxide, potassium tert-butoxide and (C) 1-5mol of trimethylsulfoxonium methylsulfate or trimethylsulfonium methylsulfate in a solvent such a chloroform or dimethyl sulfoxide at 0-200 deg.C to provide the objective spiro(oxirane-2,3')quinuclidine.
