Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: To securely prevent swinging and tumbling of a working base to which a flame spray lance or the like is fitted, by detecting the height of the working base and the distance of the backstay to the flange face and controlling the holding rollers on the basis of the detection to transfer them. CONSTITUTION: A working base 7 is loaded on a traveling carrier 3 so as to be vertically movable and two hydraulic cylinders 9, 9 are transferably installed on the working base 7. A holding roller is provided at the front end of the hydraulic cylinder 9 to hold the flange of the backstay 2 of a coke oven. A level sensor 20 and distance-sensors 18, 19 of the backstays are attached to the working base 7 to detect the height of working base and the distance of the backstay to the flange face. Both detected figures are input in a cylinder controller and the hydraulic cylinder 9 is stretched or contracted in accordance with the deformation of flange face to control the transfer of the holding rollers. Accordingly, the working base 7 can be vertically moved while holding the flange with the holding rollers and the swing of the working base and the tumbling of the lifting device 6 can be securely prevented.
