PYLORUS FORMATION/PYLORUS EXCISION SHIELD

PURPOSE: To decrease misalignment and wrong positioning of pyloroplasty/ pylorectomy and to reduce trauma of walls of a stomach, a pylorus or the equivalent by attaching an anvil means and an attachment means to a first edge of a base member and by providing the base member with a dilation means. CONSTITUTION: A shield 10 for pyloroplasty/pylorectomy has an ellipsoid base member 20 having a close edge 22 and a distal edge 25, and a round anvil ring 35 is attached on a periphery of the close edge 22 of the ellipsoid base member 20. An elastic ring 45 and a shaft 40 are attached into a dent inside the proximal edge 22 of the base member 20. A spring member is engaged to an attachment member extending from a distal edge of a circular stapler 50. And the shaft 40 is an attachment means for engaging or installing the shield 10 to the stapler 50. The distal edge 25 of the shield 10 for pyloroplasty/ pylorectory is of a curved taper toward a head 26, and forms a dilation means 29 together with the base member 20.
