COVERING METHOD OF LONG-SIZED MATRIX FOR MULTI-ELECTRODE PROBE

PURPOSE: To provide a covering method of a long-sized matrix for a multi- electrode probe which facilitates the manufacturing of a cover layer and can restrict outer diameter dimensions of the multi-electrode probe. CONSTITUTION: A long-sized matrix 22 having a plurality of signal lines 11 is formed and provided with a plurality of cylindrical electrode parts 26. The long-sized matrix 22 is inserted through a shrinkable tube 27 and the tube 27 is shrunk and is put closely on the outer circumference of the electrode part 26. The tube 27 is filled with a liquid cover material 33 by vacuum suction, the cover material 33 is hardened to form a cover layer 33A, and then, the tube 27 is removed. Thus, the cover layer 33A is formed so as to be almost flush with the external surface of the electrode part 26 covering the outer circumference of the long-sized matrix 22.
