AUTOMATIC TRANSLATION DEVICE AND AUTOMATIC INTERPRETATION DEVICE

PURPOSE: To provide the automatic translation device and automatic interpretation device with which translation is enabled in a short time in comparison with conventional examples and further, a sentence can be translated into a natural sentence so as to understand a meaning as the entire sentence. CONSTITUTION: While referring to plural division patterns stored in a division pattern storage part 7, a source sentence dividing part 2 divides a character string composed of the sounded voice sentences of a source language to be inputted, and a partial translation part 3 translates the divided character strings into the character strings of the translated result in a target language for each divided unit. On the other hand, a full translation part 4 does not divide the character string composed of the sounded voice snetences in the source language to be inputted but translate it into the character string of the translated result in the target language. A translation generating part 5 compares the character strings of the translated result due to the partial translation part 3 with the character string of the translated result due to the full translation part 4, and the character string of the translated result in the target language is decided out so as to omit redundant expression.
