Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To obtain chlorine-free detergent composition which is less irritating and stable and hence can replace a chlorofluorocarbon solvent by compounding tetrahydrofurfuryl alcohol or its alkylene oxide adduct with a specific nonionic surfactant, an amine compound or the like. CONSTITUTION:100 parts by weight tetrahydrofurfuryl alcohol of formula I (wherein A represents 2-3C alkylene; and n represents 0 to 15) or its alkylene oxide adduct is compound with 0.2-20 parts by weight nonionic surfactant of the formula II (wherein R represents 6-26C alkyl or alkenyl; A represents 2-3C alkylene; and m represents 1 to 16); and/or 0.05 to 20wt.% amine compound of the formula III [wherein R represents cyclohexyl, 8-18C alkyl, alkenyl or acyl; and X and Y may be the same or different and each represents H or (CH2CH2O)rH (wherein r is 1 or more)] {e.g. ethylene oxide adduct of cyclohexylamine) to obtain a chlorine-free detergent composition.
