PURPOSE: To impart triboelectric charge imparting property to a transferring member or a triboelectric charge imparting member and to make it possible for the member to impart superior positive chargeability to a toner without deteriorating the performance of the member even after continuous use over a long period of time by incorporating one or more of specified compds. as an electric charge controlling agent into the surface of the member. CONSTITUTION: One or more of compds. represented by formula I or II are incorporated as an electric charge controlling agent into the surface material of a triboelectric charge imparting member for a positive charge type toner such as a carrier, a sleeve or a doctor blade. In the formulae I, II, each of A and B is H, halogen, alkoxyl, carboxyl, hydroxyl, ester, nitro, amino, alkylamino, alkyl which may have a substituent or phenyl which may have a substituent, R is H, alkyl which may have a substituent, phenyl or naphthyl, (m) is an integer of 2-16 and (n) is an integer of 4-8.
