MEASUREMENT OF ORIENTATION ANGLE OF THE FEEDSTOCK ON PAPER-MAKING SCREEN

PURPOSE: To measure the orientation angle of the paper stock flowing from the slice to the wire net. CONSTITUTION: The side plates extending from the slice 11 to over the wire net 4 are made clear on both right and left sides. The light source 21 is placed inside these extending plates and the receptors 24R and 24L are arranged outside, and the light transmitting the side plates is detected with the receptors 24R and 24L. The output signals from the 24R and 24L are input into the orientation angle arithmetic unit to calculate the heights of the paper stock 3 at both edges in the transverse direction in the data-processing unit and calculate the difference in the height between the right and left edges whereby the orientation angle of the paper stock is given.
