Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: To obtain the subject medicine consisting mainly of essential oils extracted from leaves of Japanese cedar, having an suppressing action to peptic ulcer and an excellent stomach mucous membrane protecting action, high in safety and inexpensive, since the leaves of Japanese cedar which are waste material, are used as a raw material. CONSTITUTION: This anti-peptic ulcer agent comprises essential oils (preferably mainly vaporizable components) extracted from leaves of Japanese cedar (Cryptomeria japonica). The essential oils are preferably obtained by placing the leaves of Japanese cedar into atmospheric pressure reaction vessel, then pouring hot water or steam into the reaction vessel, heating, cooling the evaporated components on heating by a cooling device to liquefy, then separating the upper layer of an obtained distillate as the vaporizable component. Further, the dosage of the above medicine in the case of oral administration is preferably 1-1000mg/kg daily for an adult, and the medicine is preferably taken at one time or several times a day by dividing.
