SOLUTION: A module of a vehicle roof has components including two side members B each including a vertical beam 12 and a B column 11 and a functional unit A including one or more roof plates 2, 7 and their driving mechanisms 3, 8 and two vertically extending guide rails 6. The components A, B are mutually joined via detachable joint members (screws) 20. The vehicle roof 1 is completely prefabricated and tested by a vehicle parts supplier, disassembled when supplied to a vehicle maker and reassembled on a belt in the vehicle maker at a low cost.
