BOTTOM WATER COLLECTING STRUCTURE OF ACTIVATED CARBON COLUMN

PURPOSE: To provide a bottom water collecting structure of an activated carbon column capable of preventing leakage accident, stably using a supporting bed over a long time and having the supporting bed in place of gravel. CONSTITUTION: This structure is constituted so that the water collecting structure at the lower part of the activated carbon bed in the activated carbon column is provided with a perforated tube type water collecting device 2 using a single mixed grave bed 16 having 1-15mm the particle diameter of the gravel of 1-15mm as the gravel bed being the supporting bed for supporting the activated carbon bed 9 and provided with a wedge wire screen having 50-300μm slit width near the lowermost part of the supporting bed 16, or a perforated plate type water collecting device provided with many nozzles having 50-300μm slit width. In this structure, the bed of a mixed spherical, elliptic or cylindrical ceramic material having 1-15mm particle diameter can be used in place of the mixed gravel bed 16.
