Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve coupling efficiency for positionally aligned coupling by applying the constitution that the edge of a substrate is formed to have a recess in a positional alignment structure part in such a state as extended along the axial direction of an optical fiber and the edge of the optical fiber is kept in contact with an opitical waveguide body within a fiber core zone. (wet method) SOLUTION: An optical fiber 12 is inserted into a V-shaped positional alignment structure part 26, and this structure part 26 is laid on and aligned with the substrate 22 of a unit with the optical axis of the optical fiber 12 aligned with the optical axis of an optical waveguide body 14. Furthermore, the structure part 26 has a recessed part 34 extended along the axial line of the optical fiber 12, and the optical waveguide body 14 is placed on the substrate 22, so as to cover the edge 42 of the optical waveguide 14. The edge 40 of the optical fiber 12 is kept in contact with the edge 42 of the waveguide body 14 in the zone of a fiber core 16 via an abutted connection. |
