VIDEO SIGNAL DECODER CIRCUIT

PURPOSE: To simplify configuration by providing a signal converting means, switching means for leading out video signals, means for decoding the video signal into a signal for display, inter-field arithmetic means and frequency characteristic varying means. CONSTITUTION: An input switcher 20 selectively switches a signal M20 of current NTSC system broadcasting from a satellite and a signal S2 of EDTV-2 system broadcasting and current NTSC system broadcasting. A vertical reinforce signal reproducing/scanning line converting/color demodulation circuit 27d of an EDTV-2 system signal decoder part 27 generates the VT signal and VH signal of vertical reinforce signals from a signal SY supplied based on an information signal S9 from an identification signal deciding circuit 27e at the time of EDTV-2 system broadcasting reception and superimposes those signals on the main picture signal of the signal SY. Thus, the conversion processing of the number of valid scanning lines from 360 to 480 is performed. At the time of MUSE broadcasting reception, the circuit 27d passes the supplied signal SY as it is and directly outputs it to a D/A converter 27g.
