Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE: To provide an R-T-B based permanent magnet excelling in adhesiveness, preventing the deterioration of its magnetic characteristic by electroplating and electroless plating methods. CONSTITUTION: An R-T-B based permanent magnet (where R denotes a kind of rare earth elements including Y or the combination of two kinds or more of them, and B denotes boron, and further, T denotes iron or an alloy of iron and cobalt), wherein an oxidation-resistant film 1 is formed on the surface of the magnet and a layer 4 more rich in the amount of rare earth elements than an R2 T14 B phase 2 of the main phase of the magnet is formed under the oxidation-resistant film 1.
