Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a method and device by which the abberation of an optical disk caused by the inclination of the disk can be corrected with a simple structure. SOLUTION: An abberation correcting device is provided with a correcting plate 6 through which a first light beam converged to the surface of an optical disk 7 through the objective lens of an optical pickup is passed, a light source 11 which generates and receives a second light beam for detecting the degree of inclination of the disk 7, a light detecting array 13, and an actuator 14 for tilting the plate 6 based on the detecting signal of the array 13. Since the plate 6 has the same optical property as the substrate of the disk 7 has regardless of the environment of the optical pickup, the plate 6 can offset the abberation of the disk 7 caused by the inclination of the disk 7. Therefore, the adverse influence resulting from the abberation of the disk 7 caused by the inclination of the disk 7 can be eliminated while the maximum performance of the optical pickup is guaranteed and the abberation can be corrected with a simple structure.
