Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE: To surely compensate the effect of scratch by speedily switching respective servo gains against disk scratch in the optical type signal reproducing device for compact disks. CONSTITUTION: A precedent side-lobe sensor in an optic/electric conversion section 2 detects the reflected light at the time when the portion prior to the main beam in the side-lobe caused by the diffraction phenomenon of an ultra- resolution forming body of the main beam traces a track and converts the detected signals into electric signals. If a large electric signal is generated by a scratch and the signal exceeds the threshold level of a comparator 6, a detection signal is outputted to a microprocessor 7 and respective servo gains of the focus servo, the tracking servo and the CLV servo is reduced while a scratch exists.
