SOUNDPROOF MATERIAL

PURPOSE: To obtain a soundproof material which is capable of effectively preventing large noise and has excellent handling quality by forming the material of a multilayered structure formed by successively laminating at least three layers; a layer of an org. high molecular polymer, a layer of non-woven fibers and a layer of knitted or woven fabrics, which are respectively specific. CONSTITUTION: This soundproof material is formed by laminating the three layers; the layer (a) consisting of the org. high molecular polymer compsn. contg. the inorg. matter, the layer (b) consisting of the org. high molecular polymer foam and/or non- woven fibers and the layer (c) consisting of the knitted or woven fabrics of large-denier yarn in order of a/b/c. The layer (a) consisting of the org. high molecular polymer compsn. contg. the inorg. matter functions as a sound shielding layer, the layer (b) consisting of the org. high molecular polymer foam and/or non-woven fibers functions as a sound absorbing layer and the layer (c) consisting of the knitted and woven fabrics of large-denier yarn functions as a sound diffusion layer. The sounds from a sound generating source are diffused by the large-denier yarn, by which the penetration of the sounds to the layer (b) is diffused. The sound absorbing and shielding effects of the layer (b) and the layer (a) are thus enhanced and the leakage of the sounds outside is lessened.
