Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE: To properly use a furnace under optimum conditions by exchanging a throat section and a bottom section in a converter type operation and an electric furnace type operation to use a belly section in common to the both operations. CONSTITUTION: In constituting a refining furnace A for a converter type operation, a lower portion of a throat section is made to positionally connect to an upper portion of a belly section I, and a flange 9 at a lower end of the throat section is fastened to a flange 6 at an upper end of the belly section I by means of bolts and nuts 10. Further, an upper end of a bottom section is made to connect to a lower end of the belly section I, and a flange 12 is fastened to a flange 7 at a lower end of the belly section I by means of bolts and nuts 13. Also, in constituting a refining furnace B for an electric furnace type operation, an oxygen top blowing lance 14 and the like are evacuated, piping 16 of a bottom blowing device is dismounted so that fastening bolts for the belly section l and the throat section and fastening bolts for the belly section 1 and the bottom section are permitted to be unfastened. The belly section I and the throat section are seduredly assembled to each other by bolts, and the belly section I and the bottom section are securedly assembled to each other by bolts. This realizes functions of the both refining furnaces by not exchanging the heaviest belly section connected to a furnace body inclining mechanism but exchanging the relatively light throat section and bottom section.
