SAFETY APPARATUS FOR ELECTROSTATIC COATING MACHINE

PURPOSE: To prevent surely a fire from occurring by detecting optically a flame by means of a sensor and stopping an electrostatic coating machine. CONSTITUTION: A flame sensor 7 which monitors mainly the space between a spray nozzle 10 of an electrostatic coating machine and an article to be coated 3 is installed on the back side of the electrostatic coating machine 1. The flame sensor 7 is a pressurized and explosionproof type and detects optically a flame. In addition, those which are not influenced by colors of illuminations and coatings, brightness in the range of monitoring, etc., and can detect surely the flame are used to prevent an error action from occurring. The flame sensor 7 always monitors occurrence of the flame and when occurrence of the flame is distinguished, it outputs a flame detecting signal to a control panel 2, which performs stopping of a pump 5, closing of a valve 6, stopping of a high voltage generating circuit and stopping of a transferring conveyer for the article 3 to be coated by its safety circuit.
