Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: To improve the yield of the formation of the panels of a plurality of active matrix liquid crystal display devices when the panels are formed on one sheet of a glass substrate. CONSTITUTION: When four sheets of liquid crystal panels are formed on a glass substrate 101, a reference by location is conducted in such a way that peripheral drive circuit regions 305 to 308 of the panels face each other. By conducting like this, the regions 305 to 308, which are easily subjected to the effect of dusts, are never positioned at the peripheral parts close to the edges of the substrate 101 and the panels can be formed at a high yield. Moreover, the effective utilization of the substrate 101 can be also contrived.
