ANTIBACTERIAL AGENT

PURPOSE: To provide an antibacterial agent containing interferon-α and effective against cytozoic bacteria such as tubercle bacillus and Listeria bacteria. CONSTITUTION: The antibacterial agent contains interferon-α(IFN-α) as an active ingredient. The antibacterial may, if necessary, be mixed with a stabilizer such as human serum albumin or an organic acid buffer agent. Since the IFN-α has a species-specific property, human IFN-α such as IFN-αproduced by human leukocyte is administered on administration to man, and the IFN-α of the same kind of an animal is used on administration to the animal.
