CATHODE-RAY TUBE

PURPOSE: To facilitate assembling by forming the support member of a cathode structure with the first and second peripheral edge sections and multiple fine wire sections, integrating at least the second peripheral edge section with the fine wire sections, and welding part of it into a circular ring shape. CONSTITUTION: The cylindrical sleeve of a cathode structure is fixed to the cylindrical eyelet of a cathode-ray tube on the same center axis via a support member 34. The support member 34 is constituted of the circular first peripheral edge section 34A connected to the periphery of the eyelet by welding, multiple fine wire sections 34B having head sections 34b coupled with notch sections 34a, and the circular second peripheral edge section 34C formed integrally with the fine wire sections 34B by punching and connected to the sleeve by welding. The cathode structure is grasped as a single unit including the support member 34 serving as the fixing member of the sleeve to the eyelet and connecting portions, and it can be easily handled and assembled.
