Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE: To reduce an area to which axial force is applied in valve closing time between a valve seat and a valve so as to reduce bite of chips between the valve seat and the valve by bringing a valve outside diameter on the upstream side above a seal part between the valve seat and the valve close to a seal diameter. CONSTITUTION: In a solenoid type fuel injection valve provided with a valve seat 9 and a valve 12 which opens/closes a nozzle 9b by being pressed/separated to/from the valve seat 9 and is constructed by connecting a plunger part 13 and a ball valve element 14 together, a notch part 14a, which extends in the axial direction from the vicinity of a seal part by the predetermined length and is constructed of a parallel circumferential face, is formed on the outer circumferential face on the upstream side above the seal part of the valve element 14. In this way, an area to which axial force is applied in valve closing between the valve seat 9 and the valve 12 is reduced.
