Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE: To provide an apparatus successively producing fullerenes such as 60C and 70C with excellent generating efficiency by using a direct arc discharging method. CONSTITUTION: This apparatus is composed of a generating zone wherein counter electrodes of carbonaceous electrode bars 5 and 6 are oppositely placed inside and in orthogonally to an axis of a narrow diameter cylindrical chamber 1 having a helium gas-guiding pipe 3 at an end and enveloping the inner peripheral face with a water-cooling jacket 4 and a recovering zone of a wide diameter cylindrical chamber 2 having an inner diameter larger than the inner diameter of the narrow cylindrical chamber 1 and enveloping the inner peripheral face with a water-cooling jacket 16, and the recovering zone is co-axially connected at an opening port side of the generating zone. An end part of a downstream-side of the recovering zone is connected to a vacuum system through a suctioning duct 21. Generated fullerenes-containing soots 19 and 20 are deposited on wall parts of shade parts 17 and 18 without directly irradiated by arc plasma beams.
