Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bumper with brackets for mounting it onto a vehicle, light weight and high shape holding power, and capability of absorbing deformation energy generated at the time of an impact. SOLUTION: This bumper is bent with respect to the front line F of a vehicle at least in the region of the brackets, and includes, and is provided with section walls 12, 14 having a compression wall 12 and a tension wall 14 spaced by a prescribed distance 1, and a pair of transverse wall 16 joining them making up a hollow section. The brackets have a wedge-shaped support 26, the sloping face 30 of which lies against the tension wall 14 and is connected to it in region at the highest point of the sloping face 30.
