CONSTITUTION: A composite spray deposit C comprises a first layer A as an under coat of 20-80% Cr3 C2 residual Ni-Cr and a second layer B as a top coat which contains Co group having Mo, Cr for its main component or Ni group slide surface material or that in which 50weight% or less Cr3 C2 is dispersed in it as hard grain is formed on a base material M of at least an outer peripheral slide surface of a a piston ring 10 by high velocity oxygen flame coating(HVOF).
