Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cover for a vehicle, particularly an automobile, in which an operating cylinder consisting of a cylinder and a piston connecting rod is fitted into a covering rod transmission device in at least one adjacent cover compartment in order to assist the opening and closing movements of the cover, the cover having a cover rod transmission device pivotally housed in the cover compartment disposed on the structure side. SOLUTION: Both ends 4 of the piston connecting rod 2 of an operating cylinder 3 are non-movably secured to a cover compartment 1 and a cylinder 6 movably disposed on the piston connecting rod 2 is operatively connected to an operating lever 8 for opening and closing a folding cover. Pressure oil is introduced into the operating cylinder 3 via a hole 9 in the piston connecting rod 2.
