ADAPTIVE ENCODED SYSTEM AND BIT ASSIGNMENT METHOD

PURPOSE: To improve the encoding efficiency and tone quality of an adaptive encoding system by encoding a plurality of frames of input digital audio signals by using a frame recognizing information quantity so that the encoded results may match the hearing sense characteristic of human beings. CONSTITUTION: A quantizer 60 quantizes subband audio samples divided by bit assignment information from a second bit assigning unit 50 by means of a subband filtering device 10 and outputs the quantized samples to a formatting circuit 70. The circuit 70 formats the quantized audio samples from the quantizer 60 and fit assignment information from first and second bit assigning units 40 and 50 and, at the same time, transmits the formatted samples and information to a transmitter for transmission. Therefore, the input digital audio signal encoding efficiency and tone quality of an adaptive encoding system can be improved.
