Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE: To continuously and economically obtain a high-purity and homogeneous graphite powder by energizing a heating vessel made of graphite to directly heat the crucible and forcedly discharging the impurities vaporized by heat treatment. CONSTITUTION: A hollow cylindrical heating vessel 2 made of graphite is placed in a hollow furnace shell 3, an inert gas or gaseous halogen is supplied into the vessel 2 from gas feed ports 20a, 21, etc., and a voltage is impressed on the electrodes 14 arranged to the vessel 2 to heat the vessel 2. A raw powder (e.g. coke) is then fed into the vessel 2 from a feed pipe 4 and heated while transferred from one end to the other by a screw feeder 11 to obtain a graphite powder. The impurities in the raw powder vaporized in heat treatment is introduced into a waste gas treating device 12 through an exhaust pipe 13 furnished above the vessel 2 and treated. Consequently, the deposition of impurities on the graphite powder is prevented, and the obtained high-purity graphite powder is discharged from a discharge pipe 5.
