CONNECTION STRUCTURE OF ALUMINUM METAL OUTER CYLINDER AND FERROUS METAL INNER CYLINDER IN MUFFLER

PURPOSE: To simplify manufacture and reduce the danger of damaging a product in manufacturing a muffler while connecting an end cap to an aluminum metal outer cylinder to a ferrous metal inner cylinder. CONSTITUTION: A first member has a ferrous metal blank seat through which a discharge pipe 5 is penetrated, and a projected hole 8a, a bottom 8b, an outer peripheral part 8c. A second member 9 has an aluminum metal blank seat and a shape corresponding to an outer periphery 8c of the first member. The second member 9 is superposed on an outer side of the first member. The outer peripheral part 8c of the first member is wound by an outer peripheral part 9a of the second member 9, followed by caulking to form an end cap 6. An inner cylinder 2 is welded to the first member of the end cap, followed by installation on an outer cylinder 1. The second member is in contact with the outer cylinder 1. The outer cylinder is welded to the second member to form a muffler A.
