Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: To provide an impact absorption structure of a steering wheel which enables the reduction of the number of part items and cost. CONSTITUTION: A bracket 5 consists of a first bracket 51, a second bracket 52, and a third bracket 53. In the first bracket 51, through holes 51c, 51c in which a plurality of projection sections which protrude in the direction of radius are provided are provided. The second bracket 52 is welded on the first bracket 51 in such a manner that it covers a lower side of the first bracket 51. The third bracket 53 can be attached on a body side by means of a pair of body mounting sections 53c, 53c. A basic end 42a side of an upper column 42 is press- fitted and fixed in the through holes 51c, 51c of the first bracket 51, and the upper column 42 is held in pressure contact with the plurality of projection sections provided in the through holes 51c, 51c.
