BUMPER OF AUTOMOBILE

PURPOSE: To improve rigidity of a bumper main body by providing reinforcing ribs integratedly connecting the upper wall part to the lower wall part of the bumper main body on the outward position of the body in the vicinity of fitting parts of the bumper main body to an automobile body. CONSTITUTION: Rigidity of parts of a bumper main body 1 at which reinforcing ribs 2 are provided are improved, by providing the reinforcing ribs 2 on a plurality of positions of the bumper main body. Consequently, at collision with an obstacle, even if compressive deformation is generated on a front wall part 10 forming a space part H between the reinfocing ribs 2, compressive deformation of the bumper main body 1 is hardly generated on the parts provided with the reinforcing ribs 2. Because the reinforcing ribs 2 are provided on the outward of a vehicle body against fitting holes 3, the reinforcing ribs 2 are positioned on the frontward of the fitting positions of the bumper main body 1 to the automobile body. Consequently, the recessed quantity of the bumper main body 1 at collision with an obstacle can be made smaller than the projecting margin of the bumper main body 1 from the surface of a back door.
