Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: To prevent the outer peripheral surface of a container from being soiled by toner at the time of exchanging a toner storing container in an electrophotographic copying machine. CONSTITUTION: This toner storing container 2 having an opening 12 on the peripheral surface near the end and a cover member 14 covering at least the opening on the peripheral surface where the opening is formed and movable along the surface where the opening is formed is attached to a toner supply device, which has a holder 5 holding the container 2 horizontally movably along the opening surface and a projection part 15 aligned with the cover member 14 and preventing the movement thereof in a moving direction. At the time of exchanging the toner storing container 2, the container 2 is moved to the right in the horizontal direction, but the cover member 14 is prevented from being moved by the projection part 15a, and the periphery of the opening 12 soiled by the toner is covered with the cover member 14, so that the exchange of the container 2 is satisfactorily performed without soiling hands by the toner.
