INCORRECT COLLATING MONITOR USING CCD CAMERA

PURPOSE: To ensure a sufficient iiluminance on the surface of a printing paper by fixing an illumination unit, comprising light emitting diodes arranged annularly around a CCD camera, to the fold section base of a gathering machine. CONSTITUTION: An opening 2 is made in the center of a case 1 fixed the fold section base of each partition of a gathering machine and the surface of a printing paper of the fold section is detected through the opening 2. A CCD camera 6 is installed in the case 1 and light emitting diodes are arranged annularly around a lens unit 7 above the CCD camera 6 to constitute an illumination unit 5. Furthermore, an optical axis correction plate 4 for the diode 3 is disposed above the unit 5 so that the optical axis of each diode 3 is directed toward the center of the opening 2. With such structure, the peripheral space of the unit 7 is utilized effectively, the illuminance on the paper surface is made uniform even if the distance between the surface of printing paper and the unit 7 is short and the content on the printing face can be detected sufficiently by means of the camera 6.
