Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE: To obtain an optical copolycarbonate which can give a stable product under a wide range of molding conditions. CONSTITUTION: This copolycarbonate is obtained by copolymerizing at least two aromatic dihydroxy compounds with a compound capable of introducing a carbonate bond. It contains constituent units derived from the aromatic dihydroxy compounds and represented by formulas I and II [wherein X and Y are each alkylene, cycloalkylene, -O-, -S-, -SO- or -SO2 ; R , R , R and R are each a (halogen-substituted) 1-10C hydrocarbon group or halogen; m, n and p each stands for the number of substituents and are each an integer of 0 to 4; and R is H, a (halogen-substituted) 1-20C linear, branched or cyclic hydrocarbon group or halogen] at a molar ratio of 1:(8×10 to 1.5×10 ) and has a viscosity-average molecular weight of 12,000 to 18,000.
