CHARGING SYSTEM AND PORTABLE ELECTRONIC APPARATUS

PURPOSE: To obtain a charging system, and a portable electronic apparatus, in which the charging base can be reduced in size without decreasing the visibility of charged state. CONSTITUTION: On the PHS terminal 1 side, a constant current circuit in a charging block 14 generates a charging current ICH from a DC voltage being fed from an AC adapter 6. When a secondary battery 15 is in a chargeable state, a control section in the charging block 14 charges the secondary battery 15 with the charging current ICH which is discharged when the secondary battery 15 is in an unchargeable state. On the charging base 4 side, an LED lighting circuit 17 detects the charging current ICH and lights an LED 5 to notify under charging. Since the lighting of the LED 5 provided on the charging base 4 side is controlled based on the presence of charging current ICH on the PHS terminal 1 side, the charging base can be reduced in size without decreasing the visibility of charged state.
