SOUND SYSTEM

PURPOSE: To provide a sound system in which a correct sound image is easily obtained without changing a direction of the sound system. CONSTITUTION: A signal reproduction section gives sound signals SL, SR, SLS, SRS to a signal changeover processing section 16. A position changeover switch 20b of a remote controller 20 is operated to provide an output of a signal and it is received by remote control light receiving sections 8a-8f. A microcomputer 17 detects the direction of signal supply based on reception signals Pa-Pf. The microcomputer 17 gives a sound switching signal SC to the processing section 16 so that the detected direction and a direction of a correct sound image based on the reproduction sound outputted from speakers 1a-1f are the same to select the sound signal fed to the speakers 1a-1f. A position display signal SL representing the correct sound image direction based on the reproduction sound from the speakers 1a-1f is fed to a display drive section 19 to light a display element located in the direction. A correct sound image is obtained by operating the remote controller 20 without taking a seat in front of the acoustic equipment.
