Zusammenfassung: | PURPOSE: To obtain a high quality optical recording medium, in which the adverse effect which a laser beam receives, is reduced on a substrate surface and the recording and reproducing performance is improved, by adjusting the thickness of a resin layer in accordance with the waviness and thickness of the substrate surface. CONSTITUTION: The thickness of a resin layer 2, which is formed on the substrate surface, is controlled in accordance with the waviness of a substrate 1 and the rugged parts of the substrate are smoothed by the resin. Thus, the flatness and the parallelism are greatly improved. As the result, the laser beam is properly converged on a recording layer and the occurrence of adverse effects is eliminated during a recording and a reproducing. Specifically, dispersion in the characteristics of the recording sensitivity eliminated.
