GRAPHIC SHAPING METHOD

PURPOSE: To automatically shape a house or building graphic by using an existing graphic as a reference to improve working efficiency and to efficiently input the house or building graphic of excellent quality. CONSTITUTION: A topographical map is inputted to a drawing input device and each folded portion of a house or building graphic 12 is made right angle corner by using the graphic (hereinafter referred to as a reference graphic) 11 in which existing plural or consecutive line segments drawn on this topographical map are taken as reference. At first, the reference graphic 11 is selected from the topographical map. Next, the image data showing the house or building graphic 12 is converted into vector data, an operator selects the vector subjected to a polygon processing from an inputted drawing and performs recognizing processing and this recognized graphic is defined as a recognized graphic. Subsequently, as for the recognized graphic satisfying prescribed conditions, the reference graphic 11 is shaped into the recognized graphic by subjecting the graphic 11 to prescribed horizontal or vertical processing.
